The Whitesboro Fire Department is 100% volunteer. It provides 24-hour emergency response in the areas of fire, rescue and emergency medical services. Our Department currently has 60 members under the direction of Fire Chief Peter Sobel.
Our mission is to provide emergency services in the best possible manner to our residents with the utmost in care and state-of-the-art equipment and apparatus. Our department prides itself on its public fire and life safety educational programs. The department has joined in with the Town of Whitestown and the Whitesboro Central School district in the development of a Risk Watch Coalition, which is currently in place at Westmoreland Road Elementary.
Other programs that we feature are our smoke detector giveaway, Santa Claus Breakfast for the Needy, Santa in the Park and various breakfast and barbecues of which the proceeds are given back to the community in the line of new equipment and donations to various benefits and organizations.
